San Antonio Business and Economics Society
The San Antonio Business and Economics Society (SABES) is a community which promotes the study of economic issues relevant to our lives in and around the South Texas Region. We are academic and professional economists, teachers, government and business persons. Our diverse membership is composed of individuals who have an interest in business economics and who want to utilize current economic data and trends to enhance their capacity for making sound business decisions. SABES was chartered in 1994 and is an affiliate chapter of the National Association for Business Economics (NABE). Membership in SABES is open to all who are interested in business economics and its applications.
SABES luncheons provide a forum for discussing economic issues that affect business conditions on a local, national and global basis. Guest speakers are experts in their field and offer insightful presentations on topics ranging from our local economic forecast, to the national macroeconomic outlook, business relations with Latin America and global conditions affecting our regional interests.
We welcome students at all of our meetings. Watch for our upcoming Spotlight on Students as we focus monthly on young people studying Economics in our area Colleges and Universities.
Our monthly luncheons are held at the San Antonio branch of the Federal Reserve Bank. The Fed is located at the corner of Nueva and Main, across the street from the Bexar County Courthouse. The street address is 126 East Nueva but the parking lot is on the Main street side. Parking is provided; just identify yourself at the entrance call box and the bar will be lifted for your vehicle's entry. Please note that you must bring a picture ID and you will be required to walk through a metal detector.
